Attorney John L. Kotchick, III (Jack), is a Southern Tier native who has served local clientele in criminal law matters for over 30 years. He works closely with his clients to set their minds at ease and fights to protect their rights.
Having experienced the crucible of the trial court, Mr. Kotchicks’s goal then was to become a full-time trial lawyer, thus, an Assistant District Attorney in the Broome County District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Kotchick then spent 16 years as a prosecutor, trying everything from vehicle and traffic infractions to criminally negligent homicides. As a prosecutor, he tried over 150 cases to verdict both misdemeanors and felonies. For five years, Mr. Kotchick was the head of the Felony DWI bureau, where he prosecuted every felony-level drinking and driving offense in the county as well as every case involving death or serious physical injury due to the consumption of alcohol or drugs in a motor vehicle.
In the past, attorney Jack Kotchick has worked as a public defender, special prosecutor, assistant district attorney, felony-level prosecutor, head of the Felony DWI Bureau, and a trial defense attorney. He continues to work with all sides of the legal system and garner strong relationships with New York legal departments. He has also served the local law enforcement community by teaching on a broad spectrum of legal issues.
